Fire Creates Space For...Whatever We Invite

During a beautiful ancient Hindu Havan fire ceremony led by Manu this past Saturday, I was given the opportunity to use my voice — to share a little of my story and name how I came to this place where I now invite people into my home to gather, reflect, and be in community.

As I spoke, something unexpected happened. I could feel myself healing.

There’s a particular kind of healing that comes from telling the truth out loud — not as a polished narrative, but as a lived one. In sharing myself so freely, without performing or explaining it away, I felt a softening. And in that openness, I sensed something moving in the space. The women gathered were reflecting something back to me, and to one another, simply by being present (and afterwards sharing a little bit of their own resonant stories).

Several years ago, my life went through a major reset. I moved from New Jersey to Texas, all things and people familiar gone, and I found myself staring at a blank slate. I navigated cancer and healed. And then, almost immediately, we entered the uncertainty of COVID.

It was a massive transition — the kind that rearranges you from the inside out.

There was fear. There was grief. There was a deep sense of not knowing what came next. It was a long journey to clarity, but over time, something else emerged. Fear and insecurity slowly softened into trust. Curiosity replaced urgency. And eventually, joy found its way back in — not because everything was resolved, but because I stopped trying to force answers before they were ready.

Fire ceremonies are integral to nearly every spiritual tradition, symbolizing purification, transformation, and the cycle of death and rebirth. While this ceremony comes from the Hindu tradition, it speaks to something far older — a primal human instinct to gather around fire, reflect, release, and begin again.

Fire burns.

Fire transforms.

Fire makes room.

As I released pieces of my story to the flames — old identities, outdated fears, expectations that no longer fit — I was reminded that transformation doesn’t happen through control. It happens through letting go.

Through all the transitions I was navigating, one thing became unmistakably clear: my desire for connection and community. I found myself supported by a global women’s movement, deeply nourished by my relationship with my own coach, and committed to doing honest inner work. Reinventing my life became less about figuring everything out, and more about allowing myself to become a little bit different — in my own way, in my own time.

That is what the heart of the fire ceremony holds: release. An offering to the flames. And an opening for something new. Something different. Something more aligned.

And it left me wondering…

As we round out this year, what are we being invited to let go of?

Not in some dramatic, sweeping way — but gently. Honestly. With care.

What might we release for transformation and renewal in these final weeks?

A ritual that no longer feels nourishing?

A family expectation we've outgrown?

A role we play to keep things smooth or acceptable?

The constant sense of pressure to do it all “right”?

Operating from obligation instead of desire?

What would it look like to give ourselves real permission — to show up with more presence, more ease, more grace?

And when the harder dynamics arise, as they often do this time of year, how might we meet them differently? With clearer boundaries. With compassion that doesn’t abandon the self. With respect — both for others and for our own limits.

Perhaps this is the invitation for all of us right now — to notice what is ready to be released, and to trust that something honest and true will rise in its place.

Ways to Connect

In January, I’ll be reopening my Women’s Circles. These circles are gentle, grounding spaces — places where you don’t need to perform, explain, or have it all figured out. You simply come as you are.

One-to-one coaching journeys for women moving through transition — whether that looks like redefining roles, navigating change, untangling expectations, or reconnecting with joy, clarity, and self-trust. This work is deeply personalized and supportive, rooted in your lived experience and what’s present right now.

To begin the year in a spirit of generosity, I’m gifting three complimentary coaching sessions, to be used in January. If you feel drawn to receive this support, I invite you to reach out by December 23rd to claim one of these sessions. Truly a gift, no committment whatsoever. I belive in the cycle of giving and receiving and would genuinely love to gift you my time and presence.

You don’t need to know exactly what you want yet. You just need to feel the quiet yes.

If that’s you, I’d love to connect...please contact me!
