The Invitation of Now

I attended a breathwork session in an art gallery recently. It was a gift to first walk around and experience the diverse artistic expressions featured there. But when I saw one particular piece, striking in its simplicity- I paused:

A large purple shade art piece in a gallery that says "If not now, then when?"

As my kids wrapped up their school year- my son transitioning to 12th grade and my daughter moving up to high school- I had already been feeling like the hands on the clock were operating more like fan blades than ticking seconds. I could actually feel the wind of time blowing past.

So I gently ask you: If not NOW, then when? If not YOU, then who?

These questions date back to Hillel, a Jewish sage from the first century BCE. Over the centuries, they have been used as a powerful call to action and personal accountability. Often, we read a certain urgency into these questions- an urgency we usually don't face until we hit a crisis, a loss, or a wall.

But what if we met these questions not with urgency, but with presence?

As I feel that clock spinning like a fan, it isn't a reminder to rush; it’s an invitation to notice. It makes me think of the lingering conversations I want to hold with my kids, the shared experiences we have yet to create, and the goofiness, laughter, and play that reminds me of when they were five. I think of slowing down to listen to my aging parents, capturing the stories unheard. I think of the dream of living abroad that I’ve carried softly in my heart for a lifetime.

When you sit quietly with these questions, what arises for YOU?

What has been waiting beneath the surface, simply wanting to be seen, to take up space, to finally have a voice? Is it a passion project, a trip, a meaningful conversation, or a career shift?

Listening to these answers doesn't mean recklessly dismantling our lives or frantically trying to change everything overnight. True spaciousness is a call to, first and foremost, be mindful of what is already there. From a place of quiet awareness, we can gently shift toward aligned, intentional choices that bring us closer to what we notice.

Becoming clear about those answers requires stillness. Choosing to step into them takes courage. Using presence to slow the passing of time.

If you are navigating a desire to step into your life with more breath and intention, and would like to be held in a supportive 1-1 coaching container, with me as your mirror and partner in accountability, it would be my honor to hold that space for you. Please don't hesitate to reach out- and I'm currently offering a Complimentary Clarity Call for the first three people to connect between now and the end of the month.

And I invite you to join us for our upcoming June Women’s Circle on Sunday, June 14th. This will be a soft, supportive container where we can slow down the spinning clock, breathe together, and explore what is waiting beneath the surface to be seen and given a voice. Come exactly as you are, and allow yourself the luxury of internal space. Click here to save your seat in the circle.
