Between Breaths

Between one breath and the next, there is space — a pause, a gentle invitation to notice what’s there. This blog is a space for reflection, storytelling, and gentle practices that invite presence, clarity, and ease. My hope is that each post offers you a moment of spaciousness in your day, a reminder that you are right where you are meant to be.

“Everything is possible if we start asking ‘HOW could it be possible?’ ...and then we create magic.”- Jona (friend) ✨

There’s a quiet kind of alchemy that happens when we say yes — and mean it.

When we agree to commitment, we also agree to follow through. From conception to completion, we keep choosing our yes. Not because it’s convenient or comfortable, but because it’s who we’re becoming.

Commitment isn’t about rigidity. It’s about devotion- a living practice of showing up for our dreams, our promises, and our becoming. Even when it stretches us. Especially when it stretches us.

Just like strengthening a muscle, the beginning often feels heavy. The weight of consistency, the discipline of showing up again and again. But over time, that weight transforms. What once felt impossible begins to feel normal- even light. And from that place, we can carry more.

In a world built for shortcuts, instant gratification, and endless distractions and fear- choosing to keep showing up is a quiet act of power. It draws us out of stagnation and back into the pulse of life- into the fullness of being embodied, awake, and alive to our potential.

We’re not here to just dream about what’s possible. We’re here to create it. To bring it into form. To breathe it into reality.

This kind of commitment is rooted in balance- in the union of trust and action. It’s where faith meets effort, where softness meets strength.

It’s the moment we meet our blessings halfway- showing life we’re willing to move with it, not just wait for it.

Because when we follow through- when we do what we say we will do- something shifts. Energy begins to move. Stagnation clears. And life starts responding in kind.

So today, let’s move. Let’s show ourselves how infinitely powerful we are. Let’s peel off the old layers of lack, and let them slide away like warm, golden honey.

Move with love. Move with power. Move with grace.

Reflection Prompts

Take a quiet moment... maybe with a candle, or after a deep breath...and explore:

  1. Where in my life am I being invited to follow through?

  2. What does commitment feel like in my body- is it tight, light, heavy, or expansive?

  3. What small action could I take today that aligns with my deeper yes?

  4. What old belief or pattern might I need to release in order to move forward with freedom?

Let these questions move through you slowly. You don’t need quick answers- just honest ones.

An Invitation

If your heart is calling for deeper support- for structure, encouragement, and soulful accountability-coaching may be your next yes. It’s a space to move from thought into embodiment, from intention into action. It would be my greatest honor to accompany your journey!

And if you’re craving connection in community, come join us in circle. Our upcoming December events- Be Bold and Soft Women’s Circle and Haman Fire Ceremony are powerful spaces to reconnect with your inner rhythm, to release what’s ready to go, and to reignite your creative spark.

You don’t have to do this alone. You just have to say yes- and begin.

Outside of science class in my childhood, I was never really taught to notice the cycles of the moon- to look up and feel a personal connection to it. As a young girl, I didn’t learn to call my period my “moon cycle.” I didn’t know that, especially as women, we share a deep and ancient connection to the rhythm of the moon- one that has largely been lost in our modern Western world.

But as I grew in this awareness, something within me began to remember. It has become easier- even more natural- to connect to, honor, and celebrate her rhythm. I have been learning to notice those times in the month when I feel "surprisingly" low energy or suddenly ready to roar.

Last night, as the full moon filled the sky, we pulled out the telescope and gathered around the fire pit with s’mores. In that moment of stillness and glow, I was reminded again of this quiet, steady cycle.

The Moon as Our Mirror

Each night, the moon hangs quietly above us- changing, softening, disappearing, and returning again. We see her shift, yet rarely pause to notice how much she mirrors our own inner tides. Her rhythm is constant, but her face is never the same. Neither is ours.

Just as the moon waxes and wanes, our emotions, creativity, and energy rise and fall in their own sacred timing. There are days when we feel illuminated- clear, inspired, expressive- and others when we need the darkness, the pause, the inward pull. The beauty lies not in holding one state forever, but in trusting the cycle itself.

The Beauty of Rest and Renewal

In a culture that praises constant productivity and perpetual brightness, we often forget that the moon’s fullness lasts for only one night. The rest of her time is spent growing, retreating, and renewing.

Our inner worlds crave that same permission- to expand, to contract, to rest. When we resist our waning, we deny ourselves the space to gather wisdom and replenish our light.

The Phases Within Us

The darkness of the new moon invites us inward- asking us to listen to what is quiet, unseen, and becoming. The waxing moon stirs movement- a slow awakening, a call to nurture seeds of intention. Fullness brings expression, celebration, clarity. And as the moon wanes again, we are reminded to release, to let go of what has served its purpose, and to rest before beginning all over again.

You might begin to notice how your own inner rhythm moves through these same phases:

🌑 New Moon: Times when you need stillness and solitude- your reset.

🌓 Waxing Moon: Times of gentle effort, building momentum and clarity.

🌕 Full Moon: Times when your ideas and energy glow bright and alive.

🌘 Waning Moon: Times of soft release, integration, and rest.

An Invitation to Reflect

Over the next lunar month, try keeping a simple journal. Note how your energy, emotions, or creativity shift as the moon changes. You may begin to see patterns — a rhythm that belongs uniquely to you.

The moon doesn’t rush her cycles or apologize for her changes. She simply reflects light when she can and rests in darkness when she must.

Can we learn to do the same- to trust our own waxing and waning, to honor both the light and the shadow as essential parts of being whole?

Recently, I sat with a client who was between jobs- in that tender, uncertain space where one chapter has closed but the next hasn’t yet revealed itself. She spoke about the discomfort of not knowing, of feeling unanchored and vulnerable.

As I listened, I felt it in my own body- that ache in the chest, that flutter of fear in the belly. I’ve been there too. In fact, in very recent years, I’ve walked that same path- where the map disappears and all you can do is breathe and trust the next step will appear.

So often, we’re taught to value movement- the doing, achieving, progressing. But what about the spaces in between? The pauses that come after something ends and before the next thing begins? These are vital and precious times- the quiet moments when life invites us to rest, listen, and realign.

What if this in-between isn’t a void to rush through, but fertile soil preparing to bloom what’s next?

1. The Gift of the Pause

When transitions come- a shift in work, motherhood, relationships, identity- it’s natural to feel disoriented. Yet this pause isn’t emptiness; it’s a space for becoming. In the stillness, we remember who we are without the roles or routines that once defined us.

Reflect:

  • What transitions are unfolding in your life right now?

  • Where are you being invited to slow down or release control?

2. Letting Go of the Need to “Know”

The mind craves clarity- but the heart grows in the dark and quiet. When we pause, we make room for wisdom to rise naturally, not through force or planning, but through gentle awareness.

Try this:

Each morning this week, take ten quiet minutes. Place a hand over your heart and ask, What’s here today?” No fixing. No agenda. Just presence.

3. Trusting the Process

Like winter’s stillness before spring’s bloom, your pause is a sacred part of the cycle. Trust that rest and reflection are not signs of stagnation- they are preparation.

Journaling Prompts:

  • What am I learning about myself in this pause?

  • What’s quietly growing beneath the surface that I may not yet see?

  • How can I be more compassionate with myself during this season?

4. Stepping Forward in Alignment

When the time comes to move again, it won’t be from pressure or fear, but from clarity and inner truth. The pause teaches us to move not from urgency, but from alignment.
